Salary: $80-90k plus commission
Our client is seeking a strong sales representative in the Canadian market. We are seeking someone who has a technical mindset and able to understand the customer’s needs, identifying new business opportunities and coordinating with engineering teams to develop customized solutions. This will be an ideal role for someone who has recently graduated from an Engineering program – preferably in the Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Technologist disciplines
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales within assigned territory – 2 hour commute in person. Rest of Canada virtually, phone, email, there will be approximately 5 days/month of overnight travel
- Research accounts and follow up on sales leads effectively
- Communicate client needs to the engineering teams for future product enhancements and custom products
- Identify new business opportunities and markets within the target industries (food & beverage, packaging, agriculture, etc
- Conduct market analysis to stay informed of industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand the customer base, drive product adoption, and increase revenue
- Negotiate contracts, manage customer expectations, and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent post-sale support
- Work closely with the sales, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure a seamless flow of information and alignment on business objectives
- Provide input to the marketing team for the creation of promotional materials, product literature, and case studies
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in product management, business development, or sales within the industrial machinery or manufacturing sectors, with a focus on gearboxes or mechanical components
- Strong understanding of industrial gearboxes, mechanical systems, and their applications across various industries, particularly food & beverage, packaging, and agriculture.
- Ability to think strategically and analytically to identify opportunities and solve customer challenges with tailored solutions
- Demonstrated ability to drive business growth through product management and sales strategies. Experience in identifying customer needs and translating them into technical solutions.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
- Willingness to “knock on doors” to generate new business and relationships
