BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – INSURANCE/FINANCIAL SERVICES

$80 – 110k base

 

Synergie is currently seeking a Business Development Manager with a background within the life insurance or financial services industry, based in the Greater Toronto area.  Great opportunity to join a successful and growing MGA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth across all product lines.
  • Establish carrier-specific sales targets and track progress via reporting tools.
  • Identify recruiting opportunities.
  • Launch marketing campaigns and sales initiatives in collaboration with leadership team.
  • Actively contribute to revenue growth by attracting new advisors with existing business
  • Onboard new advisors efficiently and provide training on systems, products, and processes
  • Ensure all applications are complete and accurate; oversee timely processing and follow-ups
  • Provide case support, including illustrations and sales materials, and assist in client meetings when required
  • Prepare advisor-facing and client-facing materials that explain product strategies and recommendations
  • Support advisors with quoting, presentation design, and illustrations
  • Leverage tools (WealthServ, Power BI, Pipedrive, etc.) for reporting, tracking, and transparency
  • Represent company at industry conferences and events to maintain visibility and presence
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor team members to ensure alignment with company targets and service standards

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development within the life insurance or financial services industry
  • Proven success in advisor recruitment and sales growth
  • Strong industry network (insurers, vendors, distribution partners)
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian life and health insurance products, underwriting, and advisor operations
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans
  • Proficient with industry tools (CRM, WealthServ, APEXA, etc.)
  • Post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field (preferred)
  • Licensed to sell life insurance in Canada, with the ability to obtain additional provincial licenses
