Synergie is currently seeking an Outside Sales Rep in Edmonton, AB for our client, a leading distributor of pipes, valves and fittings. This is a permanent position, an excellent chance to join a growing and stable company. This role will be responsible for the development, servicing and maintenance of our customer account base and meet various sales targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop close relationships with decision makers at new and existing customers by making calls/visits and attending trade shows
- Resolve customer/client issues/or problems liaise with inside sales, credit and warehouse
- Providing accurate sales forecasting, meeting/exceeding sales targets
- Territory planning, calls and route planning to maximize sales
- Identify, target and acquire new customer accounts
- Accountable for monitoring customers credit and reporting to appropriate department
- Participate in special sales functions and trade shows as require/requested
- Assist on the order desk as required/requested
- Remain current in company product
- Prepare and generate reports as required/requested
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in customer service/sales capacity in related industry, preferably with background knowledge in mechanical/industrial pipe, valve and fitting OR Fire Protection
- College Diploma in Sales/Marketing, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Technologist (CET), Fire Protection Specialist or a related discipline
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read blueprints is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal and negotiations/problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Intermediate level with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong math skills
- Able to self manage
- Available to travel on daily basis with some overnight travel as needed
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be able to travel within as well as outside of Canada
