Inside Sales Rep

Our client is seeking an Inside Sales Rep to join their team. The ideal candidate will drive sales growth in Delta and the surrounding areas by managing both new and existing accounts. This role also acts as the primary point of contact for customers regarding pricing, scheduling, and delivery. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in pipe, valves, fittings and industrial sales environment and/or Fire Protection Industry. You will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with our customers. Computer literacy is required.
Responsibilities
- Process sales orders received via phone, fax, email, or sales representatives, ensuring all necessary details for order picking are accurately entered into the system. Transcribe non-stock materials in orders to material control for purchasing.
- Address and resolve customer issues or concerns by coordinating with outside sales, accounting/credit departments, materials control, and the warehouse. Investigate issues and recommend improvements or corrective actions.
- Create and manage sales and delivery quotations, communicating quotes and product specifications to customers. Collaborate with warehouse personnel to coordinate deliveries and provide follow-up as needed.
- Boost sales by promoting complementary or substitute products and specially priced items. Proactively contact customers as required/requested and provide updates on customer activity.
- Monitor direct shipments from suppliers to customers to ensure timely delivery and billing. Prepare documentation for customer returns, whether for restocking or supplier returns.
- Stay informed about company products and services.
- Participate in and complete any training as required/requested.
- Assist with physical inventory and reception duties as needed.
- Support special sales functions and trade shows.
- Prepare and generate reports as needed/requested.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, sales, or a warehouse environment. Familiarity with mechanical/industrial pipe and fittings, fire protection, and/or general plumbing is an asset.
- College diploma in Sales/Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Capable of understanding and effectively communicating the technical aspects of the company’s products.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based applications at an intermediate level.
- Solid mathematical skills.
- Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to multitask and implement action plans effectively.
- Ability to self-manage, prioritize objectives, and work with minimal supervision.
